The Data Protection Act 1998 gives individuals a right to request access to personal information held about themselves. Like the right to information under the Freedom of Information Act, the right under the Data Protection Act is subject to exemptions which may affect our ability to supply information; each case will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Under the Data Protection Act, individuals can ask to see the information about themselves that is held on computer and in some paper records. We call these subject Access Requests (SAR).
A subject access request must be made in writing and must be accompanied by a fee of £10.00 you will also need to supply copies of two forms of identification to ensure that we are only supplying personal information to the person it pertains to.
We will respond to your request within 40 days once fee has been paid. If we do not process personal information relating to you we will also let you know.
To make a request for information you can write to us;
by email to our Information Officer
or by post to
