The Canal & River Trust is the chairty that works to bring 2000 miles of waterways to life across England and Wales. Canal & River Explorers is the education team of the Trust. We inspire children's learning by connecting them to our canals and rivers.
It is thanks to our waterways that millions of children have the chance to experience local history and wildlife freely and first hand. Our waterway network is a national treasure and we are here to ensure it is enjoyed by everyone and protected forever.
Our Education Volunteers lead inspiring visits to key waterside destinations across the UK as well as in-school visits, all of which are FREE. We also offer learning at our museums and attractions. 21 of our sites have been awarded the Quality Badge for Learning Outside the Classroom. All activities are linked to the national curriculum and are highly regarded by teachers. Book a visit today.
Good luck to all the schools that have entered our exciting competition! Accompanying resources are now available in our resource library for you to download. Just click on the 'Corridor for Nature' filter to find them, or scroll down to the bottom of the page.
There are FREE lesson plans, competitions, activities and resources to use in the classroom and on visits to your local canal or river.
