Let’s Walk From Home: Liverpool City Region

We’re launching a new 6 week programme to help you stay healthy and happy by the water.

What is the Let’s Walk From Home project about?

Life can be busy and complicated and we’re not always able to make the time to get active and look after our bodies and minds.

This is where we come in. We care for fantastic green and blue spaces on the doorstep that we can all enjoy. We want to help everybody get active and feel better by water whatever the next few months may bring.

What's involved?

Our programme is fully virtual and Covid-secure. Each week will be themed around one of the 5 ways to wellbeing and will involve activities for you to do in your own time. We will ask you to log your progress in our Active Waterways Strava group and Facebook group and we will share our activity pack to help you set goals and monitor your progress.

Who is the Let’s Walk From Home project for?

If you live in the Liverpool City Region and want to be part of a group to encourage you spend more times being active outdoors, then we’d love to hear from you. We will be sharing ideas and activities to help you enjoy the green and blue spaces we care for in the local area. The project will offer group support and help you to find fun ways to get active.

Who's running the programme?

Our programme is supported by Sam Marine, Community Roots Coordinator in Sefton and James Long, Urban Engagement Manager.

They will be providing support on social media and will be available to contact over phone or email if you have any questions.

What is involved?

It is a 6 week programme, and we ask that you sign up at the first week and are able to get out for walk, run, ride, or jog at least once a week throughout the 6 weeks.

We know everyone has busy lives, so the programme is designed to fit around your commitments. All the activities are self-led and can be done in your own time.

Some of you may have lost confidence with going out, you may need reassuring about attending, or your health conditions have been challenging and you may feel they prevent you from doing activity. We work with you before the programme starts to make sure the programme is right for you.

When does it start?

Our next programme starts in March. In order to join the programme you need to be able to join us on Facebook and Strava. These groups are closed and only available to those who have signed up, but it is important that you are part of them so that you can take part in the project.

How do I sign up?

Please sign up on our online form and we will get in touch with you as soon as we can
