You can stand by the side and look up. You can stand on the top and look down. But trust us when we say, the only way to experience our magnificent boat lift is to take to the water on our boat trip and look at it in action - from the inside...
Our hard working, glass sided boat trip boat is The Edwin Clark named after the engineer who designed and constructed this clever bit of Victorian machinery. It seats up to 56 passangers and will take two wheelchairs.
You have a choice of two trips...both with a member of our team sharing the story of the lift, the people of the waterways that used it and the people who brought it back to life so we can still share its magic today.
At around 45 minutes, this shorter trip is just about going through - up and down - the lift to see it at its best - when it's working!
|Family (two adults and two children or one adult and three children):||£22.00|
At around 90 minutes, a combined lift and river cruise will take you along the picturesque River Weaver to Northwich and back. Not only do you get to see today's beautiful wildlife and historic Northwich, but our guide will help you discover the industrial heritage of the area and why the lift was so important then and now.
|Family (two adults and two children or one adult and three children):||£34.50|
You'll need to book these back at the visitor centre - best to do so when you first arrive as these popular trips get full up pretty quickly.
