Our fantastic outdoor playground is themed on the local environment designed to look a bit like the lift itself.
In the play area there's a bridge, control house and mooring area and it cleverly uses blue surfacing so children can pretend they're on the water.
It's also fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The Let's Play! at Anderton Boat Lift project funding
While the Canal & River Trust owns and cares for the Anderton Boat Lift, as a charity, we still need support for key projects. So our exciting new playground was made possible thanks to a £20,000 grant from the LEADER programme; a unique source of funding for rural areas across Cheshire, Warrington and the Dunham Massey area, managed by Cheshire West and Chester Council. LEADER takes a community-led approach to delivering European funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
