Let’s Fish! for free everyday this summer

It’s school holidays again. So, if you’re looking for things to do with the kids – big and small – take a look at our free, fun family ‘learn to fish’ activities. There are over 250 events nationwide this year, which means for the first time you can learn to fish for free every day this summer school holiday.

Events every day over the school holidays

Every day from Tuesday 23 July - Sunday 1 September, there’s at least one of our award-winning Let’s Fish! events somewhere around our canals and rivers.

Search here for your nearest event

Everyone, young and old, can come down to a canal near them and have go at learning to fish thanks to the help of our professionally trained angling coaches. Many of them top match anglers.

Everything you need to start fishing is provided:

  • The rod and tackle
  • The bait (yes that’s worms and maggots)
  • Your Environment Agency rod licence
  • Your fishing permit
  • Somewhere to sit

Let's Fish! funding and donations

As a charity we do more than just care for 2,000 miles of waterways, we help local people and communities enjoy the wellbeing benefits of being by water. We couldn't provide our fantastic award-winning Let's Fish! events without valuable funding from the Peoples' Postcode Lottery, Environment Agency, Angling Trust and other local community groups such as Nenescape.

But your donations make a big difference too – you can donate to Let’s Fish! here.
