The National Waterways Museum, Gloucester is housed in an old warehouse with uneven and worn flooring. The quayside is a working area and may be slippery in wet or icy weather. Please ask a member of our team if you need any help.

Museum staff are on hand to help and can also provide help with the lifts for groups of visitors.
Parking
There are pay and display car parks close to the museum with blue badge parking spaces. It is a very short walk on a paved surface to the museum. There is also limited blue badge parking located at the top of Orchard Square.
We have a wide access, double fronted entrance.
Limited mobility and wheelchair users
The main museum warehouse is fully accessible for wheelchair users. We also have a limited amount of wheelchairs to borrow.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors
Hearing dogs are welcome. Companions and assistants get free entry to the museum when accompanying a paying visitor.
Blind and partially-sighted visitors
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome. We also recommend a sighted assistant join you when you visit. Companions and assistants get free entry to the museum when accompanying a paying visitor.
Lift access
Despite being an original 18th century building, Llanthony Warehouse does have lifts to all floors. Don't worry - the lifts are thoroughly 21st century.
Disabled toilets and baby changing
You'll find our fully accessible toilet and baby changing facilities on the ground floor.
Sensory Information
The lighting in the museum is changable depending on the time of day.
There are a number of exhibits in the museum that make noise including our Foden engine and video screens. There are hand dryers in all of our toilets and during the summer holidays and on weekends our indoor play zone can get noisy and busy.
