Pontcysyllte is a rural area and although the postcode LL20 7TY in your Sat Nav does get you to the aqueduct, please check your route before you come and also note the brown signs in the area to avoid narrow and steep routes.

The car and coach parking is controlled by Wrexham County Borough Council and is currently free of charge. There are three car parks signposted off the A539; two small car parks off Station Road and a larger car park at Wimbourne Gate, Queens Street, Cefn Mawr, a short walk from the aqueduct.

The closest bus stop is located on Llangollen Road, Trevor, A539, regular buses run from Wrexham to Llangollen via Ruabon station and Trevor.
