Summer and winter lock opening times for the locks at Frankton on the Montgomery Canal.

Please note

Graham Palmer Lock is closed for repairs during our winter stoppage from 3 February 2020 to 6 March 2020.

Only boats with a booking will be allowed passage through the locks.

Remember, there's a maximum of 12 boats allowed down the locks and 12 boats allowed up the locks in any one day so we recommend you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

There is a minimum of one night and a maximum of 14 nights stay. 

Winter opening times 2019 to 2020

Monday 4 November 2019 – Monday 30 March 2020

Frankton Locks are open from 12 noon to 2.00pm daily. You need to book 48hrs before travelling during winter. Please book before midday on Monday 23 December for passages over the festive season.

  • Saturday 28 December 2019 – 12-2.00pm
  • Sunday 29 December 2019 – 12-2.00pm
  • Monday 30 December 2019 – 12-2.00pm
  • Tuesday 31 December 2019 – closed
  • Wednesday 1 January 2020 – closed
  • Thursday 2 January 2020 – 12-2.00pm, normal hours resume

Lock opening times are 9am until 1pm daily (including bank holidays).

Booking is required for passage through the llocks. You can book any day in advance but no later than 10am on the day of your passage*
