Fish Regional Celebration Events 2026 supported by Daiwa

We are excited to offer keen young anglers the opportunity to take part in around 34 enjoyable fishing events celebrating the summer of 2026 with the emphasis on fun and skills development.

Let's Fish regional celebrations are held from May through to early September 2026 with the added opportunity for the teams' winners of the 8 regional leagues in the three age categories to qualify for the Daiwa sponsored Let's Fish team final, to be held on Saturday April 17 2027 at Blythe Waters.

This is your chance to put your fishing skills learnt through our Let's Fish programme to the test in a relaxed setting with fellow angling beginners from your local community. Let’s Fish coaches will be on hand to support you on the day. You will need your own fishing equipment for these events.

Starting out on your fishing journey

If you have never been fishing before, we would recommend first booking on to one of our popular Let's Fish! introductory sessions. You will be taught the basics of fishing at you own pace and can work towards earning a range of Let's Fish awards certificates.

After perhaps three or four sessions, you will be ready to take the next step, which is joining us at one of our 34 Let's Fish Regional Community Celebration events, being held as an introduction to fishing opportunity alongside others in a fun environment.

Regional celebrations

The 34 regional events are listed below. All cost £6 to attend, plus an Eventbrite booking fee, and you can take part in as many as you wish to. Every participant will receive a £5 Angling Direct voucher at the end of each event.

It is important to note that you will need to have some of your own fishing equipment to be able to participate. Guidance around acquiring basic starter equipment is here. Some Let's Fish clubs do have equipment that you can borrow. You can also apply for some free or reduced cost equipment as part of the Let's Fish accelerated development programme email [email protected] for more information. Discounted equipment is also available to members of Let's Fish academies.

If your school is part of the Trust's Let’s Fish schools programme discounted fishing equipment may also be available to you. Your school PE teacher will have more information.

Here is a useful instructional video on how to make the most of this occasion.

How the Daiwa Lets Fish team league works

For 2026, the eight regions listed have been established with a minimum of four heats in each region.

  • Anglian
  • East Midlands
  • North-West
  • Home Counties
  • South West & South Wales
  • Staffordshire, Shropshire & North Wales
  • West Midlands
  • Yorkshire & North East

The aggregate winning team on points in each age category in each league will qualify for the final to be held on Saturday 17 April 2027 at Blythe Waters. Any club, academy, school or other group can enter one or more regional league providing they have three available participants for each round.

A group can have a maximum squad size of seven (five in the youth section) and all can participate in each round with the top three points scorers counting on the day. A group can participate in as many regions as they wish but if they win their home region, they will represent that region at the final and if they also won another regional league the team that finished runner up would represent that region in the final instead.

If a regional event comprised of say six eligible teams, the winning team will be awarded 6 points the second team 5 points, etc. At the end of the regional series, the team with the highest points total will qualify for the final.

National Celebration of Young People and Fishing

Following on from the Regional Celebrations, if you would like to take part in the largest fishing participation event for young people in the UK with around 500 other participants, then this event is just the thing you're looking for. It is ideal for anyone who has fished four or five times.

The format is very similar to our other celebration events, but with the opportunity for all to win fishing tackle prizes, vouchers, certificates, trophies, medals and, if you are really skilful, an iconic Guru gudgeon mug. The event will be held over two days on 12 and 13 September 2026 with the full details available here.
