Information about our numerous accreditation and award programmes that we are in partnership with.
We offer a number of accreditation and awards, and will shortly be expanding in the range that we provide.
The John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme. It supports people to connect with, enjoy and care for the natural environment with a focus on wild places.
It was launched in 1997 by the John Muir Trust, which was formed in 1983 to safeguard and conserve wild places in the United Kingdom. The John Muir Trust’s vision is of a world where wild places are protected, enhanced and valued by and for everyone.
Here at the Trust we're developing a national framework to deliver the John Muir Award, at all levels, to a number of youth groups which we are working with. Find out more about the award here
We are a licensed Volunteering Approved Activity Provider for the DofE, which means we are licensed by The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, to provide volunteering opportunities for participants nationally. More information about the Duke of Edinburgh Award can be found here
Please be aware that for DofE we have registered to take young people from 16 years and over. We do not generally encourage under 16’s to volunteer with us directly unless this is through a recognised youth group/partnership or through an authorised Trust led youth project (manned by checked and trained professionals).
ASDAN is a pioneering curriculum development organisation and awarding body, offering programmes and qualifications that explicitly grow skills for learning, skills for employment and skills for life. We are in the process of becoming a ASDAN centre so we can offer this accreditation nationally. For more information visit ASDAN
