We have recently updated and refurbished the Watersedge Café, by giving it a modern look which has completely transformed the place. We believe that it's a lovely, cosy café to enjoy a day out with the family or a catch up with friends.
The Watersedge Cafe is now open all year round:
|Weekdays||9.30am - 4.30pm|
|Weekend||9.30am - 5.30pm|
Please note these are our Spring-Summer opening times and that they may change at the end of Autumn for Winter.
Our cafe is now run by a new team of hardworking people. We have a new experienced chef who is transforming the place with he's amazing idea's and food. We're adding new things to the menu on a weekly basis.
We offer full breakfasts, all day every day Monday - Friday and available until 11:30am on weekends. Our meat is locally produced from Hinchcliffe's Farm shop.
Our most popular breakfast is the Boaters Breakfast: Sausages, bacon, black pudding, tomato, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, egg & toast. We also offer vegetarian and vegan breakfasts.
We do our usual breakfast sandwiches and 'on toast'. We can also do smaller kids portions for the little ones.
We do a range of freshly prepared wraps, with Vegetarian and Vegan fillings available also. We serve a variety of sandwiches and salads.
One of our favourites at the moment is the: Pulled pork, in BBQ sauce served in a warm ciabatta.
Our chef produces new specials every week. Like our Facebook page: Standedge Visitor Centre to see our regular updates on new specials.
If you have a specific allergy or dietary need please let us know when you order. Please note we use a wide variety of ingredients in our kitchen, some may contain allergens. We also have Gluten Free bread available on request.
We love dogs at Standedge Tunnel! We're pleased to say that our recently refurbished cafe is completely dog friendly. We also have water bowls available outside or on request.
We encourage dog walkers to visit, as there's plently of nice walks around here for you to enjoy. We have recently started selling dog treats and dog bags in the cafe. We also do a doggy deal: When you buy any meal of the menu, your dog gets a free sausage!
If you are a wheelchair user or have a pushchair with you, you'll find a ramp into our Watersedge Cafe. We have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your food and time here.
We have a popular soft play area which is situated at the Visitor Centre - you can bring a tea or coffee from the café and relax whilst your kids enjoy themselves. We also have a small outside play area which is perfect for a spot of fresh air.
If you visited us between January and April this year, you would have seen we created a pop up cafe in the Visitor Centre. We have received a lot of great feedback about the cafe and we're pleased to announce that it will be reopening again very shortly.
