Standedge Tunnel Boat trips

The only way to understand why we love our canals and tunnels so much is to take to the water on one of our boat trips.

Coronavirus information

As we operate in a confined environment both in the tunnel and on the boat, our trips will be a little different to usual but it is essential that in the current climate we put the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and customers first.

We will have a maximum capacity of 10 Passengers per trip, spaced out in the passenger cabin, with access to the open section at the front of the boat, and our guide as usual will provide commentary on the history of the tunnel from their position at the back of the boat.

The wearing of masks will be a mandatory requirement onboard for the duration of the 30min trip (including trips after the 19th July) and due to this the minimum age allowed onboard will now be 6years and above.

This requirement is to protect you and our team onboard and there will be no exceptions to this rule. We thank you for your understanding with these temporary changes and we look forward to moving back to our usual way of operating when it is safe to do so.
