Sometimes the only way to understand why we love our canals and tunnels so much is to take to the water on one of our boat trips.
If the full trip through the UK’s longest canal tunnel doesn’t float your boat – but you still fancy having a bit of a nose, you can still get on board with one of our short, 30 minute trips into the tunnel.
|30 minute boat trip times||Weekdays||Weekends|
|30 March to 16 April (half term)||11.00am to 3.00pm||11.00am to 4.00pm|
|2 March to 28 October (Friday to Monday)||12.00pm to 3.00pm||11.00am to 4.00pm|
|23 July to 3 September, seven days a week||11.00am to 3.00pm||11.00am to 4.00pm|
There’s always one of our entertaining guides around, who’ll thrill you with tales of the folk who designed, built and worked in the tunnel.
|Prices||Short boat trip||Through trips|
|Family (2 adults, 2 children)||£15.50||n/a|

Please note: only assistant dogs are allowed on the boat. The short boat trips can take one wheelchair each trip and it’s accessible via a wheelchair lift.
We’re just preparing our brilliant boat trips through the tunnel for 2018 now. There have been a few operational restrictions so our current schedule is under review. Please check back soon.
