Not far from the M40 and London's urban life is Denham Deep Lock. It's called 'deep lock because with an 11 feet drop, Denham has the deepest lock on the Grand Union Canal.
At Denham, the canal passes through Denham Country Park, it's a great place for a country walk.

Because the canal travels through a country park, look out for rare wildlife such as woodpeckers and water voles and more common species such as swans, ducks and coots, as well as ever growing numbers of the stunning red kite.
