Blisworth Tunnel is one of the longest in Britain. 3076 yards long and broad throughout - so that two narrowboats can pass - it is surpassed only by Standedge Tunnel (on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal) and Dudley Tunnel in the Black Country.

The Grand Union Canal here takes you through the lush fields and wide bridleways, it's said that ghosts haunt the dark tunnel under the hill, as many lives were lost throughout the building of the tunnel.
The Canal Museum, Stoke Bruerne has great stories and memorabelia from the tunnel. And you can take a stroll us the towpath to the tunnel entrance.
