Youth opportunities

Young people are vital to the future of our canals and rivers, not only as visitors and supporters, but also as a future workforce.

We’re committed to supporting young people and providing them with opportunities to develop skills and employability, to drive social action and to improve their health and wellbeing.

We encourage young people to get involved in our current and our future work through a range of volunteering and employment opportunities.

Creating impact

Working with young people can help us to reach more diverse communities, open up new partnerships, raise awareness, and promote the wellbeing benefits of our waterways to a wider audience. Our vision is to engage young people, from all walks of life, in the care and protection of our canals and rivers.

Youth leadership is central to everything we do. Together we create programmes that improve personal, community and environmental wellbeing, and help young people to build meaningful connections to nature.
