This Valentine’s Day, join us and the Climate Coalition in Showing the Love to the special environment of our canals and rivers.
Since 2015, the Climate Coalition have been encouraging everyone to join in the conversation about the special places they would like to protect from climate change. This February, we’re happy to support them and to #ShowTheLove.
Plastic pollution is a big concern, not just in the oceans but in our inland waterways as well. There are steps that each and every one of us can take to reduce plastic waste and show the love to the environment we live, work and play in.
Among many initiatives to tackle litter and pollution on our canals and rivers, our Towpath Taskforce teams are out in force every month, come rain or shine. Could you volunteer to help keep our canals and rivers looking lovely?
Bringing the countryside into the heart of our busiest cities, our canals and rivers are some of the most bio-diverse spaces in the country. Our dedicated environment team work hard to protect their prized natural environment.
Teams up and down the country are exploring how we can reduce excess energy use and reduce our carbon footprint. We’re particularly excited to tell you about Green WIN, a project looking specifically at how we can more efficiently pump water around our waterway system.
The Green Flag Award® scheme recognises well managed parks and green spaces and we're proud to have won 15 coveted awards so far. Find out what we're doing at the Trust to make sure our waterways continue to raise the Green Flag.
Most importantly, this Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to #ShowTheLove to the special people in your life, your friends, your family and of course yourself. Give yourself the gift of time, five minutes out of the daily routine to breathe deeply and relax.
