Coronavirus and paddle sports

Read our latest guidance on paddle sports during this next lockdown.

The Government has announced a new lockdown in England from Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December.

In England, during the lockdown, on Trust waters you are allowed to take part in paddle sports either alone, with members of your household or support bubble, or with up to one other person from outside your household, provided you stay local and only have to travel a short distance to reach the water.

In Wales you are able to participate in paddle sports, following Welsh government guidance.

Please remember that you still need a valid licence to use any kind of unpowered craft on our network.

We ask you to maintain social distancing at all times, both on and off the water. Be mindful of others on the towpath and try to avoid areas with lots of moored boats, where people may be shielding or self-isolating. Give people space and use face coverings when appropriate.
