The Foxton Locks towpath, visitor area and circular walk is completely free!

By car

Gumley Road, Foxton, Leicestershire, SAT NAV: LE16 7RA

From the A6:

  • travel north or south following the brown tourist signs
  • when heading towards Market Harborough on the B6047, turn right towards Foxton and left towards Gumley
  • you access the locks from Gumley Road
  • please avoid passing through either Gumley or Foxton villages

From junction 20 of the M1:

  • follow A4304 to Lubenham and follow the brown tourist signs 

Parking

The long stay car park is directly off the Gumley Road and costs £2 a day.

The short stay car park is down the service road towards the locks and costs:

  •    £2:50 for 4 hours
  •    £4 for 8 hours
  •    Free after 5.00pm
  •    (special parking charges may apply on event days)

Disabled parking - there are disabled parking spaces in the short stay car park and on the access road to the Boilerhouse Museum

Please remember that neither car park is open over night!

By train

Market Harborough is the nearest station with trains from Leicester or London, Kings Cross.

By bus

Bus service: 44, RR2 (Rural Rider) from Market Harborough station. The bus brings you to the top of Foxton village, from there follow the bridal way to the locks or go to the canal bridge and follow the canal. For times visit: www.centrebus.info
