Thanks to the support of players of Peoples' Postcode Lottery, 2018 was our busiest Let's Fish! season yet with nearly 4,000 children and adults trying fishing for the first time. Here's some feedback from just a few of those happy customers.
Joel's mum tells us how Let's Fish! has helped her and her son get over the death of a much-missed husband and father.
His mum wrote to us saying: "Our eight year old son, Kieran, thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon fishing with Simon Mottram at the Three Locks in Stoke Hammond last Sunday [3 June 2018], and he wrote a short review for you:
"Before I went to the fishing trip I had never gone fishing so I was nervous about what it would be like to go fishing and to hold a fish. At first I didn’t want to hold it but when I did touch it I found out that it isn't that bad. I really enjoyed my day of fishing and I would encourage others to do the same as me and you might enjoy fishing too. I was very lucky because I got to fish with Simon Mottram, a fishing champion. He taught me lots about fishing and as a result I caught 24 fish."
Kieran is a very reluctant writer, so getting even this out of him is a reflection of how much he valued the day. He has also been busily watching the videos hosted on your fishing skills page and is really keen to have another go (I've been in contact with Nuala Gray to see what we can do about that)!
Many thanks once again for having offered us such a wonderful opportunity to try fishing last weekend, and for having made it such a memorable and enjoyable experience for our boys Kieran (8) and Ethan (5).
With best regards, Miranda
