Donate your unused fishing tackle and trophies

The majority of your donations are distributed to keen young participants who were able to demonstrate their enthusiasm and commitment to fishing and in particular by signing up to attend our Let's Fish celebration events.

Passing it on

Not all of the equipment we receive is suitable for beginners when they first start out or for coarse fishing. In this scenario we are able to pass this equipment on, investing the proceeds in more suitable starter kits for young people.

In 2025 around 100 young people participating the Fishing for Families programme in Staffordshire each received a Let’s Fish starter kit using a combination of suitable donated equipment and new equipment funded from sales of donated equipment. We expect this figure to at double in 2026. All 500 participants at the Let's Fish National Celebration of Young People and Fishing receive a significant second hand item of donated equipment and at least one goodie bag comprising of second hand smaller donated items (floats, shot, line, feeders etc.).

Occasionally we receive items with significant heritage value which are auctioned or sold privately following guidance from our volunteer angling history and heritage advisor, with the proceeds again invested in suitable fishing starter kits for young people.

Trophies

The Let's Fish programme is also able to reuse many replica fishing trophies and sometimes even larger perpetual trophies. Our philosophy is that we believe that young people should be motivated by the opportunity to win trophies, certificates and small tackle prizes rather than have the pressure of trying to win cash during their formative fishing years. In 2025 we distributed over 600 replica trophies at our Let's Fish Regional Celebrations, National Celebration of Young People and Daiwa Global Communities Celebration events.
