The charity making life better by water

Sefton street art

Bringing a smile to passers-by, Sefton's new mural reflects not only the local history and wildlife but the local community that helped create it.

Artists in Sefton

The art, created by local artist Stella Lang from Bootle's SAFE Regeneration Centre, now adorns a waterside wall below the Strand Shopping Centre. Stella worked with local residents on what they'd like to see by the canal. As a result, she has created a 'zen doodle' piece inspired by metamorphosis, reflecting the local history, wildlife and people who use and enjoy the canal.

Our Sefton community roots projects are supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery, and the mural is part-funded by the Place Based Social Action programme through the SAFE Regeneration Centre.

The new mural makes a stunning addition to the canal bank in Bootle and is sure to bring a smile to people’s faces.
