The Upper Trent is the River Trent from the end of the Beeston Cut. Heading upstream it goes through Cranfleet Cut, past the junction with the Erewash Canal and the River Soar and on through Sawley Cut, ending at Cavendish Bridge a few hundred metres past the connection with the Trent & Mersey Canal.
