The charity making life better by water

Canal turning to the right with green trees all around and a church in the distance

Leigh Branch (Leeds & Liverpool Canal)

The Leigh Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is a peaceful stretch for walking, cycling and gongoozling.

This picturesque waterway branches from the Leeds & Liverpool Canal main line at Wigan and meanders seven miles to Leigh, where it then joins the Stretford & Leigh branch of the Bridgewater Canal.

Passing through lovely scenery with great views, it's ideal for wildlife-spotting and time in nature.
