Volunteering by boat in the West Midlands

Over the Christmas and New Year our volunteers were busy moving boats around the waterways in readiness for the next round of our winter works programme.

The team worked about 5-9 hours a day in wet weather and did a great job in ensuring the boats were at the right location so the construction teams could get cracking with replacing and repairing the lock gates when they get back after the Christmas break.

Big thank you to Gordon, Andy, Nick, Brian B, Brian F Carole, Steve, Emily, Ralph ,Clive, Howard E, Neil and Peter who put in a massive 150 volunteer hours and saved the Canal & River Trust £3,500 in staff time.
