This is a unique heritage site that offers the opportunity to moor within the museum and surrounded listed buildings which are nestled in-between the Manchester Ship Canal & the Shropshire Union Canal.

Boating through Ellesmere Port
Booking is required to moor in the museum, and from 1 April 2022 customers will be able to pre book on the short stay moorings. These moorings are located in the lower basin within the museum and each booking will be assigned a mooring spot ranging from 1-6.
Visitor information

The fee of £12 per night per boat includes access to the museum for two adults on the days of mooring as well as any events that may be taking place whilst you visit.

You can book online through our licensing system so you'll need to have an existing account (or set one up), or you can book by calling our customer service team 0303 040 4040, and once booked you will receive a booking confirmation by email.

Your arrival time at the museum is after 1pm and leaving before 12noon on the day of departure.

You can change or cancel your booking free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the booking period, or by calling the customer service team not later than 7 days before the start of your mooring stay.

There is no cancellation charge, as we want other customers to benefit from any unused bookings.

Mooring pins may be required on some berths whilst we replace some of our older rings.
