With picturesque views across the River Weaver, excellent transport links, ample free parking, and a unique heritage setting, the marquee provides a memorable location that will leave a lasting impression.
We're easily accessible from the M6, M56 and Northwich town centre, with brown tourist signs directing visitors to the site. On-site pay and display parking is available. Blue Badge holders can park free of charge.
Greenbank Railway Station is the nearest railway station, approximately 2.4 km (1.5 miles) from the boat lift. Northwich Station is also nearby and has regular services from Manchester and Chester. From the station, visitors can take a taxi or local bus.
The closest bus stop is Swing Bridge, Anderton, a short walk from the visitor centre. Local services including the 9A serve the area. Services from Northwich Bus Interchange connect to Anderton and the Boat Lift Visitor Centre.
A taxi journey from Northwich Station takes approximately seven minutes. A taxi from Greenbank Station takes approximately five minutes.
The boat lift can also be reached via the Trent & Mersey Canal towpath and the surrounding network of footpaths and cycle routes, making it an ideal stop for walkers and cyclists exploring Cheshire's waterways.
