Nature on Your Doorstep Pack
This pack will help you learn about the work we do to protect nature, improve habitats, promote the benefits of spending time in nature, and look at ways in which our waterways can help us protect against and adapt to climate change.

Canals and rivers bring the wonders of nature to our doorsteps, with towpaths and waterways brimming with biodiversity.
But did you know that around 1 million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction? This fact is made all the more alarming as we rely on biodiversity for human life and nature to flourish.
Our waterways have never been so important for nature. And, they're also key sources of health and wellbeing for us.
In our Nature on your Doorstep pack, you'll learn about the work we do to protect flora and fauna, improve habitats, the benefits of spending time in nature, and the ways in which our waterways can help us protect against and adapt to climate change.
Activities to download
Some of our activities involve getting together with other people or visiting your local canal or river. Please follow national and local government guidance at all times. Consider saving the activity for a later date if there are lockdown restrictions in your area.
If you're visiting the waterways, please keep your distance from both other people and moored boats. There may be people living aboard who are self-isolating or shielding.
