Bath is another of those UNESCO World Heritage Sites through which one of our waterways wanders. Compared to the Roman baths in this historic city, the Kennet & Avon Canal is a relative newcomer at just 200 years old.
The canal towpath is a great way to reach the Thermae Bath Spa, the stylish shops, the busy bars and trendy restaurants that recreate the buzz of the Georgian era. However, its gentle curves are the perfect compliment to the formal elegance of Bath's Georgian architecture, leading you on tranquil towpath walks out towards the Wiltshire Downs.
Take our towpath audio trail through the nearby Sydney Gardens, Pump House Chimney, Cleveland House, Darlington Wharf, Sydney Wharf, Baird's Maltings and Thrimble Mill to discover a world you never knew about Bath.
