Set alongside the Wigan Flashes, the canal is a great place to relax and enjoy the wildlife, with a mass of unusual birds and insects to look out for. Take a peaceful boat trip or unwind in one of the pubs and cafés, and admire the local history. Keep count of how many of the twenty three locks you pass!
