Montgomery Canal’s beautiful waterway scenery and impressive historic structures provide the inspiration for a new touring photographic exhibition which launches at Welshpool’s Powysland Museum on Friday 5 October.
Reed buntings and marsh marigolds are among dozens of species of plants and animals now flourishing in a new protected home on the banks of the River Weaver Navigation near Northwich.
Along with Marsh Christian Trust, we are pleased to announce the winners of this year's volunteer awards which recognise and celebrate volunteer excellence along the nation’s waterways.
We have made two senior appointments as part of plans to boost the number of people using the region’s waterways as a place to keep fit, volunteer or just get away from the pressures of modern life.

Two of our apprentices from Wales have been nominated for a major award recognising their work to repair the two-centuries old Brynich Aqueduct on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.
Artists from The Ring – an arts programme inspired by the canals and rivers of Worcestershire – will be leading free guided tours of a series of works in Diglis on 29 and 30 September.

The winners of our 2018 Living Waterways Awards were announced at a gala ceremony in Birmingham on 20 September.
A new monthly volunteering session has been set up to give residents of the town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the chance to help look after the Leeds & Liverpool Canal whilst also enjoying some time by the water.
