Community spirit is alive and well on the nation’s canals with record numbers of people volunteering.
Thousands of fish have been rescued and rehomed from the famous Foxton Locks to enable us to carry out vital restoration and repairs to the lock gates.
Volunteers are being sought to help care for 12 locks on the Aire & Calder and Sheffield & South Yorkshire navigations.

A major milestone in the £2 million project to improve sections of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath from Skipton to Gargrave, and Bradley to Kildwick, has been completed in time for the local community to enjoy waterside walks over Christmas and New Year.
