The Ring - a major arts programme and cultural first for Worcestershire will celebrate the rebirth of the region’s canals and rivers during 2018.
Super Slow Way, a major arts commissioning programme in Lancashire has been awarded a £1 million grant from the Arts Council England’s Creative People & Places programme.
Fabrications is presented by Super Slow Way and supported by the Canal & River Trust as part of our Arts on the Waterways programme. From 7-30 September venues and historic locations across Pennine Lancashire, in the heart of the birthplace of Britain’s textile industry, will play host to arts events, exhibitions and installations in celebration of this remarkable legacy.
From September 2017 until September 2018, internationally acclaimed artists, as well as artists from across the region will be working with local communities to create a series of unexpected and inspiring artworks, events and activities exploring the heritage, ecology and local community along the urban and rural waterways of Worcestershire.
The Ring, a new arts programme for the waterways of Worcestershire, is proud to launch Opening the Floodgates on Friday 23rd June 2017. They are inviting any interested artists to attend a special riverside launch event led by Artistic Director Cathy Mager at Diglis House Hotel at 6pm on Friday 23rd June 2017.
