Vale Royal Locks virtual walk
Enjoy a virtual walk around Vale Royal Locks on the River Weaver Navigation.
We know that it's not always possible to visit the canal when you want to and so we've put together a virtual walk along the Weaver Navigation so that you can experience what the canal has to offer without leaving home.

The route
While you're welcome to enjoy the route from the comfort of your own home you can also enjoy it in person.

Directions to the start: If you go over the blue bridge on A556, turn immediately left onto Vale Royal Drive (signs for Vale Royal Wood).
The road goes under a railway bridge, which you can park under.
Walk to Vale Royal Locks and then cross the bridge onto the towpath on the opposite side. You will see the Canal & River Trust porters' hut. Take a left and start walking along the towpath.
Once you have reached Hartfors Wetland site you can turn around and retrace your steps.
