By foot

Stoke Bruerne towpathThe museum is on the canal towpath in the heart of Stoke Bruerne village.

By road 

We’re just south of Northampton, 10 minutes from the M1 (J15) and about the same from the A5. You can follow the brown signs from the A508.


There is a pay and display car park close to the museum

  • charge £3.00
  • special parking charges may apply on event days
  • disabled parking - there are disabled parking spaces in the short stay car park

By rail

The nearest train stations are Northampton and Milton Keynes.

By bus

There are new bus routes that will bring you to Stoke Bruerne from Northampton and Milton Keynes.

For specific bus times call the Stagecoach Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

By boat

By bicycle 

We’re a very bicycle-friendly museum and encourage people to visit us on two wheels (as long as you remember to share the space of course) by providing you with dedicated bicycle parking, free water refills in our cafe and puncture repair kits in our shop (we hope you won't need to buy one though!)
