Macclesfield Canal Society: Congleton

Congleton Adoption Group (CAG) has adopted from Bridge 77 to Bridge 72 at Congleton, along the Macclesfield Canal.

This is our fourth adoption agreement for the society and many of the Congleton local community are members of this group.

Biggest achievement to date

Over the winter or 2019 we laid new gravel down to improve the surface around Bridge 74 to Bridge 76, which was a very muddy towpath.

Ongoing litter picking in this area and vegetation clearance has been our focus in Congleton over the year.

Our group is well supported but we are always interested in new team members, please notify the local leads Piers Lambert [email protected] or Duncan Learmond ([email protected]) if you are joining us, and so we know we have enough tea and cake too.

Meet at Queen’s Head car park on fourth Thursday of the month at 10am. Find out more here: https://macclesfieldcanal.org.uk/calendar
