To celebrate Heritage Days, the museum is opening its doors to the public for free.

Come and stroll through this wonderful 7 acre site through a landscape of Victorian buildings of locks, docks, stables and cottages.

Free entry to explore the museum, speak to our amazing team of volunteers and find out about the wide range of volunteering opportunities we can offer you.

Our Visitor Experience Volunteers come from all walks of life. So whether you’re retired, returning to work, or just have time to give, there’s a role for you! All roles are flexible, varied and shaped around your interests. No previous experience is needed as full training and support will be provided.

To help you settle in, we offer a flexible ‘drop-in’ role for your first six weeks giving you the chance to try out different opportunities and explore the museum at your own pace. We look forward to welcoming you into our team!
