We follow the River Tone towards Ruishton, before returning to Bathpool via the canal towpath, pausing at Chard Junction on the way.
This is a varied walk which takes us to the River Tone, via Hankridge Water Park. Passing under the M5, the footpath then follows the field edge and then onto Ruishton. After a short detour through the village, we rejoin the footpath along the banks of the River Tone, heading downstream to Creech St Michael. We then join the canal towpath and return to Bathpool. We will stop at Chard Junction, where in 1842, the two canals joined. The Chard Canal closed in 1868, having only been in use for 26 years.
Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities on this walk.
This walk is not suitable for wheelchair or mobility scooter users.
