When the Bridgwater Docks were built, thousands of people lined the docksides and the day was declared a bank holiday. Here, goods were loaded into barges on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal. Today, it's a peaceful place where people enjoy activities such as walking, cycling and canoeing.

Today the canal banks are home to rare and fascinating wildlife like otters, water voles and glow-worms. You might even spot a freshwater jellyfish in Bridgwater Dock

By car - there's a public pay & display car park close to the docks

By boat - while the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal is only 22 miles long, here at the dock you'll find some visitor moorings and our permanent moorings and facilities
