The towpath is currently closed at Bridge 79, Cockerham Road on the Lancaster Canal due to a vehicle strike which has damaged the bridge parapet and dislodged masonry coping stones.
Our engineers have been notified and are attending site to carry out inspections and assess the extent of the damage. Temporary safety measures are being put in place on the highway above while a repair plan is developed.
Please follow the signed diversion route and take extra care when travelling through the area.
