Description

Original 24 October 2026, 10:21am

Please be advised a bough has fallen from the towpath side of the canal just downstream of Bridge 63, Clay Pit Bridge, and is blocking the towpath.

Our teams are aware of the obstruction and will endeavour to remove the tree as soon as possible. Until the tree has been cleared, customers are advised that pedestrian access through this section is not possible.

With Storm Austen and Storm Boelo forecast to bring adverse weather conditions this weekend, response times and the progress of clearance works may be affected. Boaters and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when navigating the waterway.

Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.
