Please be advised that water levels are currently low between Lock 53, Brimslade Lock and Lock 78, Kintbury Lock.
The summer's hot weather and lack of rain means that our charity is doing all we can to save water and transfer the flow that's available to the right places on the network to meet demand.
The issue of low water flows can be exacerbated when paddles, which are used to control water levels and facilitate boat navigation, are operated incorrectly or misused.
To help conserve water and support navigation during this period, we would be grateful if all customers could ensure that lock paddles are fully closed after use and once they have passed through the locks.
Small actions such as this can make a significant difference in helping us retain water within the canal and maintain navigation for as long as possible.
We thank all boaters for their cooperation and understanding during this time.
