We have had to implement an immediate navigation closure at this lock due to a balance beam that is at risk of failure, making the lock unsafe to operate.
The lock will remain closed until further notice while we carry out the necessary safety measures. Once the structure has been made safe, we will look to introduce assisted passages until a permanent repair can be completed.
For your safety, please do not use the balance beams to cross the bottom lock gates.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
