The bottom lock gate walkway at Lock 11 on the Audlem Flight, Shropshire Union Canal, has deteriorated and is no longer safe to use due to rotten timber.
Boaters and members of the public are advised not to use the bottom lock gate walkway and should use the top lock gate walkway at Lock 11 when operating the lock or crossing the canal.
Contractors are being instructed to inspect the site to plan a method of repair
.A further update will be provided on or before Thursday 17 September.
