Descriptions

Update 9 September 2026, 11:06am

Contractors have attended site to assess the fallen tree. Following their inspection, it has been determined that specialist equipment is required to safely remove the obstruction.

The necessary equipment is currently being arranged, and the team is scheduled to return to site tomorrow morning (Thursday 10 September) to undertake the removal works. A further update will be provided as soon as more information is available.

Original 8 September 2026, 9:08pm

A tree has fallen down, blocking the navigation just south of Ebstree Lock. The tree fell from the off-side towards the towpath and is blocking the canal only - the towpath remains open. A contractor will be required to deal with the tree and reopen navigation, this is hoped to be dealt with on 09/09/2026.
