Our Reactive Response Team have been out to assess the broken beam and repairs needed today, and will be returning tomorrow, 2nd September, to carry out the repairs.
They are hopeful that they will complete these repairs tomorrow.
Further update will be posted as soon as works completed or more information available.

One of the balance beams on the top gates at Lock 34 (Boggs Lock) has broken, and the lock is currently inoperable. The paddles will be locked off, and signage will be installed on site to advise customers of the issue. Engineers are scheduled to attend site on 01/09/26 to assess the damage and develop a repair plan. A further update will be provided once the engineers have attended and the extent of the repairs has been determined.
