Our contractors are currently on site carrying out clearance works in an area affected by low-hanging trees. During these works, a tree has fallen, increasing the scope and complexity of the operation.
To allow the navigation to reopen safely, contractors are working to remove the fallen tree and address the wider issue of low-hanging trees within the affected area.
The duration of the works is currently unknown and will depend on the size, condition and complexity of the trees that require removal.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while this essential safety work is undertaken. A further update will be provided as soon as more information on the completion of the works becomes available.

This willow tree is now touching the water and looks to be split. Boats cannot pass through without safety concerns.
Contractors have been requested and will be attending tomorrow to clear.

Overhanging trees on the Coventry Canal
Please be advised that large branches from two willow trees are hanging very low across the width of the canal between Bridge 13 and Hawkesbury Junction.
The branches have dropped significantly over the last few days and may come into contact with the roof of a boat. Boaters are advised to proceed with caution when navigating through this area.
Our Operations team and contractors will be attending the site at midday today to assess the situation and determine what works are required.
