Update 6 October 2026, 3:44pm
Since our last update the grouting works at lock 63 offside will now be carried out during our winter works programme. Further details about the dates and duration of these works will be published when the works have been planned in.
Navigation is still possible through the towpath side lock.
A further update will be provided on or before Thursday 5 November.
Update 16 September 2026, 4:46pm
Since our last update we are still awaiting confirmation of a start date for the grouting works which is part of the National Grouting Programme which has been delayed on other priority work. Until this date is confirmed Lock 63 towpath side still remains open for navigation.
A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday 7 October.

Navigation is closed at Lock 63 offside, Clearwater lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal, due to leakage.
The repairs have been included as part of our National Grouting Programme. Until a date is confirmed for the grouting works, Lock 63, Towpath side remains open for navigation.
