Cadley lock 54 to Froxfield bottom lock.

Further to the notice below, we are pleased to confirm water levels are recovering well.   The navigation will reopen from 10.30 am onwards on Friday the 28th August from Lock 54 to Lock 70.   Please make sure all gates are closed correctly and that all local instruction is followed.

Please be advised that we have received reports of customers experiencing difficulty navigating sections of the canal between Cadley lock 54 and Crofton Summit lock, as well as Bedwyn to Froxfield bottom lock. For this reason, we have made the difficult decision to close the navigation from Cadley Lock 54 to Froxfield Bottom Lock 70.

This will be reviewed daily until safe navigation is restored. Other factors such as low ground water feeding Wilton Water and low water on the long pound have affected our pumping strategy. We anticipate that recharge may take a number of days.

We apologies for the inconvenience and hope to reopen as soon as possible.
