Contractors are now onsite removing the fallen tree.

A further update will be given on Thursday 10 September.

Update 8 September 2026, 3:31pm

Contractors will be on site on Wednesday 9 September to remove the fallen tree that is obstructing the navigation between Bridge 133 and Bridge 134 on the Shropshire Union Canal.

A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday 9 September.

Update 1 September 2026, 4:39pm

Contractors have been delayed in attending site due to other high priority works.

Navigation still remains open and boaters are requested to pass through the area with caution.

A further update will be provided on or before Tuesday 8 September.

Update 25 August 2026, 2:46pm

Contractors have been delayed in attending site to remove the fallen tree that is partially obstructing navigation between Bridge 133 and Bridge 134 on the Shropshire Union Canal, due to priority works elsewhere.

Navigation remains open, and all boaters can continue to pass through the area with caution.

A further update will be provided on or before Tuesday 1 September.

Navigation is restricted between bridge133 and bridge 134 on the Shropshire Union Canal due to a fallen tree partially blocking navigation.

Our local team attended site today and successfully partially moved the tree to the canal side, allowing boats to pass through with care.

Contractors have been instructed to attend early next week to complete the removal of the fallen tree.
